Back To The Future

Sunday, 19 August, 2007

I’ve gone a little BTTF crazy over the past few weeks. I watched the trilogy through twice, and then watched the first one again until I stopped, thinking that if I saw II and III after it, I’d be doomed to re-watch the trilogy over and over and over. I had some money going spare so I spent it on the novelizations of part II and III and the soundtrack to the first film, which features Huey Lewis, more Huey Lewis, Etta James and Marvin Berry and the Starlighters (the fictional band in the movie).

Stand By Me = Awesome-ness!

Monday, 7 May, 2007

I saw Stand By Me for the first time yesterday. It was shown around 11pm on Channel 4 and has been one of the many films on my mental list of, well, films I need to see.

I noticed that Vern is played by Jerry O’Connell, a name which sounded familiar. I checked on the IMDB and found that he also plays Quinn from Sliders. In fact, now that I’ve noticed, I also recogise Wil Wheaton, who plays Gordie, as Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: TNG.

The Power Of Suggestion

Ace SoundtrackYesterday I was watching some Saturday Night Live videos on Youtube, in particular, ones in which Jim Carrey makes an appearance, when Ace Ventura crept into my mind. Now I saw this movie many years ago and loved it, particularly the soundtrack.

I did a search on Youtube for Ace Ventura and came up with the introduction to the first movie, in which there is a song, with I now know to be “The Power of Suggestion” by Steve Stevens. It’s a pretty good song, the Youtube video is below, although the only intro I can find of the movie, is the spanish dub. Oh well.
